SAWLOG, PATTERN, MINING SLAB, SLATTED BLANK, VOLUME, PROBABILITY MODELING The object of research is the process of cutting slatted blanks from the parabolic zone of the sawlog. The purpose of the work is to reduce wood consumption when processing mining slab into slatted blanks. Research methods: analytical modeling of the shape and size of lumber; modeling of the influence of random components of the diameter of its upper end and taper on the use of the log area from which the blanks are made using probability theory methods; processing of the results of a computer experiment using mathematical statistics methods. A technique for modeling the log sawing with the processing of the mining slab into boards with an external face of a parabolic shape (from which slatted blanks for furniture, carpentry and construction products are further manufactured) has been developed. It allows us to assess the influence of the thickness and location of the specified boards in the log sawing pattern on their average volume and the volume of the log area used for their manufacture. This allows you to compare such patterns and choose the most resource-saving ones. The main equipment of the technological line for the production of slatted blanks from the parabolic zone of the logs is proposed. The economic effect of using the developed technique is due to an increase in slatted blanks yield. A promising direction for further work is to improve the technique for accounting for wood losses when sawing parabolic-shaped boards into slatted blanks.
