The general nature of the regularities of the influence of mechanical loading conditions of laboratory specimens on the fatigue localization kinetics of structural steel under monotonic tension and symmetric tension-compression was revealed. A unified methodological approach to the analysis of discrete characteristics of local deformation of a material under monotonic and periodic loading of samples is proposed. A methodological approach to assessing the limit state of accumulation of the deformation relief of the surface of a metal sample in the range of cyclic loads has been developed, which can be used to monitor the current state of operational damage to the metal or the residual life of a metal construction. The connection between the characteristics of fatigue localization and the material surface deformation relief accumulated in the material under the influence of cyclic loading is established. To assess the state of accumulation of damage arising in the process of cyclic loading, it is proposed to consider the ratio of the mutually inverted maximum amplitudes of the binary relief of peaks and troughs in local areas of the material surface as such. It has been shown metrologically that, based on these characteristics, it is possible to quantify the state of residual life of a construction component or the relative durability of a cyclically loaded laboratory material sample.  Product Description popup.authors Bialonovych Andrii V.
