These methods and tools should be consistent with the content of e-VUE and the tasks assigned to the project. The study also aims to develop theoretical and methodological tools and applied principles of organizing and improving the multimedia version of "The Great Ukrainian Encyclopedia" (e-VUE) as a new communication platform on the web popup.description2  Purpose: to theoretically substantiate and develop research and methodological support for the use of web-oriented and multimedia technologies for developing an encyclopedic portal; to develop theoretical and methodological tools, to develop applied principles of organizing and improving the multimedia version of the Great Ukrainian Encyclopedia as a new communication platform on the web; to search for the most effective methods and means of representing domestic encyclopedic content for various target groups in various forms (text, audio, visual, graphic, etc.). Originality The following have been developed: the features of using web-oriented and multimedia technologies in encyclopedias; the potential of using digital technologies to form an encyclopedic web-portal; the potential of using visual materials for designing textual content of the e-VUE; the potential of using AI to create an encyclopedic content. Further development has been made in: content and conceptual priorities for developing the VUE through the prism of understanding the development of civilization and the formation and maintenance of national identity; the categorical framework of the research in multimedia. The options for promoting e-VUE on the web were rationalized. It is proved that the Great Ukrainian Encyclopedia (VUE) is a unique space that represents various types and methods of providing information. A set of promotional activities for the e-VUE was developed: bookstagram pages in social media. The methodological tools for using the multimedia version of encyclopedic content in the educational and academic activity were characterized. A survey of the e-VUE audience was conducted. This study has confirmed the hypothesis that the use and popularization of the multimedia e-VUE will contribute to the distribution of information on Ukraine, growth of interest in Ukrainian topics, and an adequate representing the achievements and cultural heritage of Ukraine on the web.
