The relevance of the issues under study is growing in the context of the harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with European Union law. National legislation encompasses a wide range of special regulatory acts that address specific research topics. At the same time, numerous problematic issues arise in legal practice regarding the interpretation of certain norms, aimed at resolving contradictions in the mechanism of private regulation. National legislation must align with the norms of European Union law; however, the degree of alignment should not demand complete identity from Ukraine. Legislative harmonization can take into account Ukraine’s developmental conditions, its national characteristics, and the peculiarities of its legal norms based on the country’s specific trajectory of development and, consequently, its national legislation. Within the framework of this topic, faculty members and doctoral candidates of the department successfully prepared and defended three doctoral dissertations and four dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of “Law.” In cooperation with the Lviv Region Council of Attorneys and the Department of Civil Law and Procedure, an international scientific and practical conference titled “Harmonization of Contractual Legislation with European Union Law” was held on May 31, 2024.
