Object of research: biodiversity, climate change. The purpose of the study is to assess the risks and vulnerability of biodiversity to climate change. The paper analyzes the available information on the current state of biodiversity, including fish fauna, in Ukraine and the world. The information on the impact of climate change on biodiversity, the main risks of climate change, and the assessment of risks and vulnerability of biodiversity to climate change is summarized. The goals and scope of climate risk assessment to assess the impact of organic biodegradable waste on the greenhouse effect and related changes in ecological balance in soils and water bodies are defined.
