The main parameters are the speed of contact point of the metals being welded and the speed of the collision of the metals. If the speed of contact point is easily determined by the speed of detonation of the explosive substance that is used, then the speed of collision can currently be calculated based on empirical dependences very inaccurately and not for all practical cases, and there are no acceptable measurement methods. At the same time, this parameter determines the welding energy and, accordingly, the quality of the resulting bimetal, so it is necessary to be able to determine it in order to determine the optimal welding modes. Other parameters also depend on the speed of collision (angle of collision, angle of rotation of the plate). The work was performed on the basis of the available experience in the measurement of dynamic parameters by laboratory specialists on the basis of existing methods, devices, material and software for measurement. Such measurements were carried out at the test site of the SIC "Material processing by explosion" of the Paton Welding Institute. It will be necessary to develop special sensors, similar to sensors for measuring detonation speed, but with increased reliability of operation, and software for processing the received information. The result of the work is a technique, equipment and sensors for measuring the main welding parameter - collision speed, as well as a method for determining and correcting explosion welding modes. The work acquires with the development of mass production of large-sized bimetal with an area of 20 square meters and more, which cost tens, sometimes hundreds of thousands of US dollars.
