Research goals are to increase the success of ornamental plant introduction, propose optimal methods of cultivation, reproduction, and conservation, explore the potential use of the studied plant objects in green building and phytodesign in western Ukraine, to analyze the dependence of morphological and phenological traits of the arcto-alpine shrub Kalmia procumbens on the geographical and climatic features of habitats, as well as trait variation over time. Research methods: field, laboratory, testing of introductions in open and closed soil, biomorphological, morphometric, microscopy, physiological, cryoconservation. Biological characteristics and prospects for the introduction of 130 taxa of ornamental plants in open and closed soil from the collection funds of the Botanical Garden of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv were studied. The possibilities of vegetative and generative reproduction of the cultures were analyzed; methods of reproduction and cultivation of the studied plants, means of their conservation and protection were developed. It was established that there are distinct and stable changes in morphometric traits and phenological phase timings of Kalmia procumbens depending on the geographical region, latitude, altitude above sea level, and distance from the mainland shore.
