N. Sokolovsky» popup.description1 to study the physical and mechanical properties of soils with the establishment of connections between some of them and the moisture content in the soil popup.description2 Research Object – aspects of soil rheology. Research aim – to study the physico-mechanical (rheological) properties of soils and establish relationships between some of these properties and soil moisture content. Research methods – information-monographic, abstract-logical; field, laboratory-analytical; computational-design; cartographic. Theoretical results – a theoretical and methodological analysis of soil deformation properties, which are, in turn, determined by soil rheological properties such as moisture content, granulometric composition, organic matter, etc. Practical results – an analytical assessment of the relationship between physico-mechanical soil properties and moisture content in the one-meter soil layer under the influence of different tillage methods and short-rotation crop rotations.Field research results did not reveal a statistically significant impact of short-rotation crop rotations on soil physical parameters. The studied tillage methods are divided into two groups: 1) plowing and no-till cultivation; 2) surface tillage. The first group statistically significantly reduces soil density and hardness, whereas surface tillage leads to higher values of these parameters. Soil physical and physico-mechanical properties are influenced by the meteorological conditions of a given year. Novelty – the methodological framework of rheology and deformation was applied to analyze the impact of short-rotation crop rotations and tillage methods on soil physical and physico-mechanical properties. Implementation efficiency – the efficiency is determined by using the methodological framework of rheology and deformation to analyze soil physical degradation, particularly the reduction of porosity due to soil use in agricultural production. This allows for the parameterization of Ukraine’s zonal soils concerning their deformation properties, linking them to moisture content, and regulating soil tillage operations. Field of application – agriculture. Product Description popup.authors Velychko Volodymyr A. Koliada Valerii P. Nazarok Pavlo H. Shevchenko Mykola V. popup.nrat_date 2025-01-31 Close
