The objectives were quantitative analysis and experimentally determining fumigant, repellent and attractant activities of aromatic substances on model species of living organisms in laboratory conditions and on local multispecies communities of invertebrates in natural and anthropogenically transformed ecosystems. We evaluated the effects of 72 different food and household flavorings regarding attracting and repelling significant farm invertebrates. The results of the study allowed us to identify substances that have an attractant or repellency activities against abundant, common and rare species of invertebrate animals (at the first stage, 18 model species of invertebrate animals were studied). The study would make it possible to identify substances that are dangerous to animals, and also to reduce the level of toxic loading on environmental objects. The results of the study would be useful for agriculture, forestry, conservation and environmental protection, food and light industry, and health care. The obtained results were used during the preparation of lectures and practical works on the courses "Ecological toxicology", "Environmental safety" for students studying for a bachelor’s degree in specialization 101 - Ecology and the courses "Food toxicology", "Environmental impact assessment" and "Phytoparasitology" for students studying for a bachelor’s degree in specialization 091 – Biology. In addition, they could be used to teach future specialists in specializations 211 "Veterinary Medicine", 212 "Veterinary Hygiene, Sanitation and Expertise" of various qualification levels (the Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University).
