A device for throwing solid bodies has been developed. A test complex has been created to study the bearing capacity of models of thin-walled structures for the reliability of surface damage under the action of local impact load by foreign mass and (or) debris fragments, which allows determining the characteristics of the impact process depending on the shape, mass, speed and number of bodies being thrown. The results of computer modeling of the process of punching the surface of cylindrical shells with a hard ball at different speeds and at different angles to the shell surface are presented. The forms of loss of stability and the dependence of the critical force on the total area of circular holes (shell-holes) of different sizes and numbers randomly accumulated on the lateral surface of cylindrical shells are presented. The results of experimental studies of the process of crack formation, further development of the stress-strain state and fracture of plate models in the vicinity of stress concentrators in the form of a crack tip are presented.
