The work is aimed at: - studying the transformations of the urban planning space of Volyn in the context of modernisation, industrialisation and independence of Ukraine; - Identification of key architectural solutions and approaches typical for different stages of the region's development; - development of recommendations for the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of Volyn, its integration into modern architectural and urban planning projects; - formation of conceptual foundations for the further harmonious development of architecture and urban planning in Volyn in the context of new challenges of the twenty-first century. The following scientific and technical results were obtained: - The directions of development of cities and towns in the twenty-first century have been studied, which allowed to identify the main criteria for creating urban planning structures in modern conditions.
