Of particular importance was the attention paid to the issues of execution of life imprisonment. The research addressed the urgent issues of the right of prisoners to access military service. A broad scientific discourse on the state of compliance with the rule of law and human rights in the execution of sentences and the treatment of convicts was achieved through the analysis of accumulated national experience, world standards and European values, the application of an interdisciplinary approach to the implementation of the right to life with dignity, the right to medical care, the right to education, the right to labor, the right to primary medical care and treatment, the prevention of any forms of discrimination in penal institutions. A separate area of novelty is the proposals for the formation of the national identity of persons in places of deprivation of liberty, mentoring support for the professional development of employees of probation agencies, employees of the National Preventive Mechanism. The conclusions and recommendations of the research are based on the results of thematic empirical studies, which laid the methodological and substantive foundations for the development of a some of legislative initiatives, the provision of scientific and legal conclusions and proposals for draft laws and other regulatory acts within the planned indicators of implementation of the topic " Respect for human rights in the execution of sentences and the treatment of convicts in Ukraine".
