Basically, for the production of many products from various polymer materials, there is a need to ensure their quality characteristics within the regulated limits at the stage of the production process. To develop non-contact operational methods for measuring and controlling the thickness of polymer films, it is necessary to study the interaction of probing ultrasonic waves with the controlled material. Therefore, for the case of developing a non-contact method for controlling the thickness of a polymer film and a polymer coating on a metal plate, it is necessary to analyze the process of passing ultrasonic waves through the layers of these materials. Analysis of the amplitude ratios of ultrasonic waves will make it possible to determine the limiting values ​​of the geometric parameters of both the controlled material itself and the parameters of ultrasonic waves, which must be used to increase the sensitivity and accuracy of measurements of the thickness of a polymer film and a polymer protective coating by the ultrasonic non-contact method.
