Basically, for the production of many products from various textile materials, there is a need to ensure their quality characteristics within the regulated limits at the stage of the production process. To develop non-contact operational methods for measuring and controlling the surface density of textile fabrics, it is necessary to study the interaction of probing ultrasonic waves with the structure of the controlled material. Therefore, for the case of developing non-contact methods and means for controlling the surface density of textile fabrics, it is necessary to analyze the process of passing ultrasonic waves through them. The study of the passage of ultrasonic waves through a textile fabric has been carried out. An ultrasonic plane wave that falls on a textile fabric, after passing through the controlled material, will change its amplitude depending on the ratio of the acoustic resistances of the textile material and the environment (air). The ratio of the amplitude of the wave that has passed through the textile fabric to the amplitude of the wave that falls on its surface can be represented by the modulus of the complex coefficient of transmission of ultrasonic waves for this case. The study of the transmission and reflection of ultrasonic waves from the textile material will allow the development of non-contact methods and means of controlling the surface density, which will provide operational technological control. Analysis of the amplitude ratios of ultrasonic waves will make it possible to determine the limiting values ​​of the surface density of both the controlled material itself and the parameters of ultrasonic waves that must be used to increase the sensitivity and accuracy of measurements of the technological parameter of the textile material by the ultrasonic non-contact method.
