On the basis of explaining the essence of innovative methods and digital technologies and taking into account foreign and domestic experience of their use in law enforcement, the scientific foundations of their application in criminalistics and forensic examination have been developed in order to improve the criminalistic support of the activities of law enforcement agencies and forensic institutions of Ukraine. The study allowed to obtain the following results: the structural elements of the information systems of criminal justice bodies were determined; methods for verifying the reliability of digital information using publicly available free Internet resources are proposed; the ways of using artificial intelligence in the investigation of war crimes have been determined; an algorithm for determining the risks of human rights violations in connection with the use of artificial intelligence systems in criminal proceedings has been proposed; proposed normative regulation of legal mechanisms that will contribute to the search and identification of dead and missing servicemen and police officers in full-scale war and in peacetime; The Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine has been supplemented with norms that will expand the assistance of a specialist in conducting investigative (search) actions. The results of the study can be used to make changes and additions to the legislation of Ukraine. Certain provisions, recommendations, proposals for the use of innovative methods and digital technologies in criminalistics and forensic examination can be implemented in the work of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine and in the educational process of law universities.
