Taking into account the fact that periodicals (printed and now electronic) occupy an important place in the system of documentary communications, so it needs to reveal its information potential in the context of retrospective national bibliography. popup.description2  During 2022–2024, studies conducted a comprehensive study of Ukrainian periodicals (Mass-circulation press of Ukraine, newspapers of national communities of Ukraine) in the context of theoretical and practical problems of national bibliography; The importance of these types of publications as a historical and bibliographic source has been proved; the theoretical foundations of general scientific approaches and principles, as well as special methods as a tool of research of newspaper publications; introduced into the scientific circulation and information space a significant complex of sources; Historical and bibliographic studies have been carried out that meet international standards and requirements, have theoretical and practical importance for the development of domestic prescription as a special historical discipline.
