The experimental sample of the screw conveyor with the rotating casing provides the possibility of changing the conveyor inclination angle with the corresponding modifications of the hopper, the frequency and direction of the screw working body and the casing rotation, and also allows for quick change of the screw working bodies of various designs: conventional, with a variable diameter of the shaft in the loading area, with a variable pitch of flights. The use of an experimental equipment allows to study: the productivity of the screw conveyor when mixing bulk materials, the power of drives and torques on the electric motors shafts, the magnitude of the friction torque that occurs between the casing and the bulk material, the coefficient of inhomogeneity of the bulk materials mixing. On the basis of the study of the technological processes of the screw spirals manufacturing, the work derives analytical and empirical dependencies for calculating the bending moment, force and design parameters of the screw spirals manufacturing process by the method of tapes winding using a forming tool with a rotating sleeve, which allows distributing the load on the forming rollers. The bending moment and force parameters for screw spirals winding is determined. A new design of an elastic brush-like screw for grain material transportation and mixing by screw conveyors with a lower degree of damage to some particles of the material has been presented in the work under discussion. The theoretical calculation of the fiber displacement value of an elastic brush-like screw conveyor has been carried out on the basis of the deformation analysis of an idealized system with elastic elements.
