Purpose of work: To estimate the frequency of different variants of beta-casein of aboriginal breeds of cattle and buffaloes in the studied populations. Research methods: molecular genetic (polymerase chain reaction - restriction fragment length polymorphism), population genetic (software). For the reporting period of 2024, as a result of the work carried out: monitoring of studies to determine the polymorphism of the beta-casein gene in aboriginal breeds of cattle of Ukraine. The results were analyzed by direction of scientific research; DNA was isolated from biological material of aboriginal breeds of cattle – Ukrainian Gray (73 heads), Ukrainian White-headed and Carpathian Brown breeds (60 heads) and buffaloes (30 heads); the frequencies of different beta-casein variants in aboriginal breeds of cattle – Ukrainian Gray, Ukrainian White-headed and Carpathian Brown breeds and buffaloes were estimated.
