As a result of the conducted studies, we selected the optimal composition of the reaction mixture and the PCR mode. A comparative evaluation of the developed method using different matrices indicates a 100% coincidence of the obtained results regarding the detection of DNA of the target group of fungi of the genus Fusarium. The use of the developed approach allowed us to identify the predominant Fusarium species associated with the contamination of corn grain obtained from farms in the northern region of Ukraine. Two isolates previously assigned to the genus Fusarium were not identified at the species and genus levels. As a result of the studies, it was found that the use of species-specific primers allows us to successfully detect all target species that are the most common contaminants of corn grain. The identity of all isolates was also confirmed as the genus Fusarium, and the species distribution consisted of the predominant species: F. oxysporum (9%), F. proliferatum (13%), F. sporotrichioides (33%), F. graminearum (25%), F. verticillioides (9%) and F. culmorum (11%). Methodological recommendations "Diagnosis of grain fusarium diseases by polymerase chain reaction (PCR)" were developed and Patent for utility model No. 155838 was obtained for the method of obtaining the strain Fusarium Moniliforme Sheldon No. 3 - a producer of mycotoxins fumonisins.
