Head Marenkov Oleh M., к.б.н. Registration Date 05-02-2025 Organization Oles Honchar Dnipro National University popup.description1 Assess the state of waterbodies and coastal ecosystems that have undergone transformation under the influence of military actions, technogenic factors and climate change, and develop a set of measures for their preservation and restoration. popup.description2 The hydroecological state of aquatic ecosystems of the Prydniprovia region was established and analyzed, and the dynamic indicators of hydrobioresources of the studied water bodies were investigated in the context of the influence of anthropogenic, climatic factors, and the impact of war. For the first time, a histological assessment was conducted and data on the reproductive characteristics of the crayfish population were obtained, and appropriate recommendations were developed for their rational use as a resource. Using the prophase microextraction method with a modified placement of the extractant, methods have been developed for the determination of a number of inorganic anions, such as chloride, nitrite, and bromide. The specific activity of radionuclides was analyzed and the levels of accumulation of these radionuclides by crustacean organisms were established; series of accumulation of radionuclides by different tissues of crustaceans were constructed according to the criterion of specific activity, namely muscles (as a food resource) and carapaces (as a source of secondary contamination of water bodies with radionuclides). A scale of risks of radiation contamination of soil and water has been developed, based on the detection and determination of background and specific activity, duration of exposure, and describes the likely risks to the ecosystem and biota; ecological risks for the studied water bodies regarding the invasion of new species of disturbed ecosystems, as well as technogenic and military risks for the aquatic and coastal ecosystems of the region, have been identified. The levels of heavy metal accumulation by aquatic organisms were determined. The losses caused to the fisheries of the Kakhovka reservoir due to the loss of crayfish populations because of sharp decrease in the water level after the collapse of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam were calculated.
