These challenges cover all the spheres of our society: socioeconomic, political, cultural and ideological. Looking for the ways to solve the problems of the present days, we are increasingly turning to the recent historical past striving to learn its historical lessons and to find their possible implications for the present. The study of totalitarian relations has greatly increased its practical significance. Nowadays, when new, much more sophisticated features of authoritarian regimes have been revealed, the topic presented is especially acute. For the staff of the Institute which is one of the displaced educational institutions, the analysis of civilizational challenges in the prism of totalitarian relations has become a problem not only of a theoretical nature, but also of the practical existence of the Institute in the conditions of the armed conflict in Eastern Ukraine. Without studying the totalitarian past our future cannot be built up, because the metastases of the old political system are still being signaled. It is planned to identify the main sources to study the problem, to characterize the existing historiographical base, to distinguish features of totalitarian relations in particular countries (the USSR, Nazi Germany, the countries of the “socialist community”, etc.) in certain periods of their existence and to summarize the historical experience of the forms and manifestations of totalitarian relations, their modern modifications. The publication ofabstracts, articles, monographs, dissertations and textbooks will become the output of thisscientific study. The participants of the research are the lecturers and students of all levels of higher education. popup.description2 The object of the study is the totalitarian system of the Soviet model at various stages of its functioning. The purpose of the study is to investigate the processes of creation and existence of the totalitarian system as a whole, its main components, the features of each stage in historical retrospective against the background of the general civilizational development of mankind. To solve the tasks set, interdisciplinary, general scientific and special historical methods were used. Interdisciplinarity is a constant requirement of modern historical science, which allows emphasizing its anthropocentric dimension, so, the main research approaches in our study were the historical-anthropological and sociocultural approaches. The reporting stage is characterized by increased attention to the anthropocentric dimensions of totalitarian regimes. The objects of the study were economic, political, social, cultural and ideological processes in a totalitarian society, such as the functioning of mono-profile cities, the activities of public organizations at different stages of Soviet totalitarianism, the formation of the cultural elite, the religious situation. The specified problems were covered both at the national and regional levels. These traditional topics were supplemented by the study of hybrid threats, such as pandemic and war. The general conclusion is to condemn attempts to instrumentalize history, which is defined as a hybrid threat of modernity. Product Description popup.authors Aksiuk Mykyta B. Bohunenko Valerii O.
