The processes of organization, the content and development of accounting practice, developments in the field of accounting and the processes of development of accounting knowledge and professional education in the territory of western Ukrainian lands in the declared period are disclosed. Significant achievements of the past have been systematized,which made it possible to determine the contribution of Galician scientists in the formation of the theoretical foundations and practical organization of accounting, approaches to its organization and the content of its teaching in higher educational institutions. Analyzed the historiography of accounting in the system of economic development and related activities, training of accounting personnel, including and in the financial and economic education system. The results obtained in the processes of the conducted research reveal previously unknown pages of the history of the state of theoretical and applied accounting knowledge, the content of the scientists' developments, the organization of training of accounting personnel against the background of historical events and the socio-economic environment in the western Ukrainian lands.
