The purpose of the study is to investigate the peculiarities of choosing protection devices against emergency modes of operation of electrical networks for various purposes in order to ensure their fire safety and reliability of power supply to facilities. To achieve this goal, we analyse the main types of power grids, the main emergency modes of power grids, the methods of protection of power grids from emergency modes of operation, and propose algorithms for their selection. Particular attention is paid to the development of organisational and technical measures to ensure the reliability of power supply to facilities in the event of an open military attack.
