The regularities and peculiarities of the current state of soils in the floodplain complexes of the Transcarpathian Lowland, influenced by natural and anthropogenic factors, are characterised. The primary morphological and functional changes in the soils of these floodplain complexes resulting from anthropogenic transformations have been identified. Detritogenesis in selected floodplain ecosystems of western Ukraine has been assessed. The effects of anthropogenic and climatic influences on the flora, vegetation, and habitat diversity of chosen floodplain ecosystems in the Transcarpathian Lowland have been recognised. In particular, an analysis of floristic and syntaxonomic changes in the floodplain vegetation of the lowland has been conducted. The impact of drainage on the phytodiversity of floodplain ecosystems has been appraised, and the dynamics and naturalisation of highly invasive plant species within these ecosystems have been highlighted. Predictive distribution models for 11 plant species have been developed, taking into account various climatic and anthropogenic scenarios. These models indicate that species have lost their climatic barriers that previously limited their rapid spread, with a high degree of expansion into natural and protected areas anticipated. A description and assessment of 98 potentially valuable wetland sites covering an area of 5,000 ha, was carried out. The results of the implementation of the National Action Plan for the Conservation of Ciconia nigra during its first four years were analysed. Materials for the legislative justification for creating 7 virgin forest nature monuments, encompassing a total area of 645.1 ha, have been prepared.
