The purpose of the research is to conduct agroecological monitoring of the small river basin with the determination of the anthropogenic impact on the level of chemical pollution to develop criteria for optimizing nature and land use. The chemical composition of the aquatic ecosystems of the Tlumachyk River was monitored. The content of biogenic elements, carbonate and cationic, and trace element composition of surface and subsurface waters of the Tlumachyk River basin were determined. The agrochemical characteristics of the content of trace elements and heavy metals: Zn, Cu, Mn, Ni, and Pb, Cd, in the bottom sediments of the Tlumachyk River, ponds and lakes, as well as the soil cover in the Tlumachyk River basin were determined. It was established that the small Tlumachyk River basin as a whole can be attributed to an ecologically balanced region with local manifestations of ecological stress in places of high anthropogenic loads. Criteria for optimizing nature and land use have been determined to ensure the ecologically balanced functioning of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems in the basin of the small Tlumachyk River.
