The purpose of the study is to develop hazards maps maps and risks maps of certain territories in the river basin districts of Ukraine for further use in the preparation of flood risk management plans. Research methods: analytical processing of geospatial data on flood protection facilities, instrumental measurements of absolute elevations of the river channel bottom and floodplain using topographic, geodetic and hydrometric equipment. The work was carried out as part of development of flood risk management plans in accordance with Article 1071 of the Water Code of Ukraine and Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 247 “On Approval of the Procedure for Developing a Flood Risk Management Plan” dated with April 4, 2018. Based on the methodology for creating river flood hazard and risk maps, hazard maps and flood risk maps of certain territories of the river basin districts of Ukraine were developed in accordance with the results of the preliminary flood risk assessment of 2018. Based on the results of the project, mapping material in shapefile (.shp) format was prepared for the Goryny River and the Opir River.
