Research methodology: The study was conducted on the basis of farms in Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions. 7 groups of pigs with different genotypes (large white, landrace, pietren and terminal boars) were created. Average daily gains, fat thickness, feed consumption, and reproductive characteristics were evaluated. Main results: Groups that included terminal boars showed higher weight gains (up to 8.97%) and reached 100 kg faster, compared to purebred animals. Feed consumption per unit of gain was reduced to 5.40%. Meat qualities: Animals of terminal groups had better fat thickness indicators, which increases the quality of carcasses. Reproductive characteristics: Heterosis and stability of indicators allow the use of such groups in breeding work. Genetic factors: It has been shown that the genetic component significantly affects productivity, especially fat thickness (Cv up to 10.1%). Conclusions: Terminal boars are promising in pig breeding due to their high productive qualities and the ability to optimize breeding work. A systematic approach to hybridization taking into account genotypes and feeding rations ensures stable efficiency. Further research is aimed at developing genomic selections and adapting hybrid lines to specific farm conditions.
