Research objective: to scientifically substantiate the rational limits of application and combination of chemical, physicochemical and biological processes and the possibility of their integration into a flexible technological sequence to ensure the required degree of purification during reuse. Research methods: spectrophotometric, catalytic oxidative combustion, biotesting, methods for determining the structural and sorption characteristics of sorbents. The prospects for the reuse of a mixture of urban and industrial wastewater are considered. It is proposed to use it as a normative indicator of the content of total organic carbon in the water supply source and in drinking water before chlorination. The features of groundwater purification by a gravity-fed filter with filter layers made of natural clinoptilolite and activated carbon are studied. Theoretical justification and selection of activated carbon samples for the removal of active chlorine and organic compounds in the processes of drinking and process water preparation were performed. The structural and sorption characteristics of activated biochar were determined, the adsorption capacity for pharmaceutical compounds was estimated. The reduction of the COD of the solution, salt content, and copper concentration in the process of complex processing of technical wastewater by plasma treatment and electrodialysis was shown. It has been established that the use of VUV-UV, VUV-UV/TiO2 treatment of aqueous solutions of pharmaceutical compounds before nanofiltration almost completely removes the organic component. The acute toxicity of microamounts of salicylic acid and diclofenac sodium for Dafnia magna has been established, and the potential of using the test object for monitoring water purification has been demonstrated.
