 ABSTRACT Interim report on Scientific Research Work: 42 pp., 18 figures, 33 sources STUDY OF LIMIT STATES OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN LOCAL DESTRUCTION OF THEIR BEARING STRUCTURES The object of research is the processes of reaching limit states and progressive destruction of buildings and structures in the conditions of perceived influences aimed at destruction. The purpose of the work is to identify the features of destruction caused by perceived influences and to develop recommendations on this basis for the possible protection of structures and buildings in general from progressive destruction. Research methods - analysis of well-known studies on progressive destruction and durability of construction structures, computer modeling of destruction processes, processing and analysis of the obtained results. The physical features of the most important limit states of structures adopted in regulatory documents are defined. It is shown that, in principle, the limits can be adjusted within certain limits for certain emergency situations. It was established that the limit states remain the main indicator of the stability of structures and buildings in emergency situations, in particular, it is based on them that the stability (survivability) of buildings and structures against progressive destruction is determined. The results of well-known research in the relevant field of knowledge are considered, the schemes of possible destruction of buildings given in well-known sources are analyzed. Conclusions are made, which indicate issues that require additional research.
