The Russian-Ukrainian war has made the issue of covering national processes particularly acute. The role of community media and local information is of particular importance and social value for local communities. The municipal research institution ‘Research Institute for Socio-Economic Development of the City’ (Municipal Research Institute ‘NDIRoM’) conducted a research study ‘Study of Media Consumption of Kyiv residents. Monitoring the consumption of communal media in Kyiv’. A study was conducted among Kyiv residents on the demand for information, media literacy and trust in the media, as well as the specifics of the audience of certain types of media in the capital, including TV viewers, radio listeners, Internet users, social media users, and managers. The analysis of the target audience of the municipal media in the capital should potentially help answer the following questions: Who is the main audience of municipal media? How do Kyiv residents perceive municipal media brands and what are their expectations? What are the current information needs and problems of Kyiv residents, and which of them can be solved by the available municipal content? And, what channels and types of content can be used to most effectively reach and engage Kyiv residents and/or different groups of Kyiv residents in the capital's discourses?
