Design development of a distiller for thermolabile substances of different initial composition. popup.description2  A distiller design has been developed for army units performing tasks in regions with a shortage of drinking water, crews of small-sized sea vessels, underwater and other closed inhabited objects, including it can be used for crews of manned space objects. In addition, the development can be used to concentrate water-containing solutions, for example, when processing heat-sensitive solutions in the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as to reduce the mass of radioactive solutions when preparing them for disposal. An experimental study was conducted under real operating conditions of the processes of evaporation and condensation of steam-air mixtures in the field of action of centrifugal forces at atmospheric pressure, and to meet the high requirements for the concentration of heat-labile substances of various initial compositions. New designs of built-in pumps have been developed for condensate removal and circulation of liquids in the system due to centrifugal forces. The development includes studying the operating characteristics of the distiller (productivity, degree of water extraction, energy consumption) and the influence of the device design on these characteristics.
