The purpose of the NDNTR is to develop a glossary of terms in the field of gemological examination in the areas of precious stones of organogenic formation, precious organic materials, semi-precious stones, artificial products and to implement it in the practice of expert and educational activities. To create a generalized electronic glossary of terms in the field of gemological examination. The research method is literary and analytical. During the implementation of the NDNTR, an analysis and generalization of the current scientific and professional terminology used by the international and Ukrainian professional gemological and jewelry community was carried out in the areas of: precious stones of organogenic formation (pearls, amber), precious organic materials (coral, bone, mother-of-pearl). The terms were systematized and their interpretations were unified, a list of terms and definitions of the concepts they denoted were formed for the draft glossary of gemological terms. The novelty of the results obtained is that for the first time a generalizing glossary of gemological terms will be formed, harmonized with international terminology in the field of examination and circulation of precious stones.
