Using the created expression cassette with PVX genome elements, the yield of the target protein hINF-alpha 2b was approximately 80 times higher than with a traditional expression cassette. The antibacterial activity of recombinant colicin M synthesized in transgenic kale and carrot plants was confirmed against two major enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC) strains: O157:H7 and O104:H4, as well as E. coli strains resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics and carbapenems. The inheritance of the transgene was studied, and heterosis was observed in hybrids between the wild-type line and the transgenic kale line producing colicin M, resulting in a significant increase in plant biomass accumulation with antibacterial activity. Additionally, effective methods for stimulating the yield of pharmaceutical raw materials and increasing the accumulation of biologically active compounds in medicinal plants were developed. Specifically, it was demonstrated that low-dose X-ray irradiation significantly enhances the synthesis of the antibiotic chamazulene in chamomile plants; gaseous methyl jasmonate increases the content of antidepressants in aseptic Hypericum (St. John’s Wort) plants by 25–50%. The project work was conducted in accordance with high international standards using modern methods of genetic engineering and radiobiology.
