Paton Electric Welding Institute (PWI) popup.description1 The purpose of this work is research the process of forming the МАХ phase in the conditions of different methods of GTN and MN and determination of their application for development the group of gas-thermal and magnetron coatings on the basis of triple carbides of Ti and Cr, that contain the МАХ phases , for defence of surfaces of details, machines and mechanisms popup.description2  The result of the work, a group of new gas-thermal and magnetron coatings based on ternary carbides of Ti and Cr containing MAX phases with increased functional properties for protecting the surface of machine parts and mechanisms from wear, corrosion and exposure to high temperatures was developed. The work included a study of structural-phase transformations in the process of mechanochemical synthesis and determination of conditions for obtaining composite powders containing MAX phases; a study of physico-chemical processes occurring during the formation of coatings with MAX phases Ti3SiC2, Ti2AlC, Ti3AlC2, Cr2AlC, which were obtained during gas-thermal (microplasma, detonation, plasma-arc, high-speed gas-flame) spraying of powders of the TiAl-SiC, (Ti, Cr)C-Al and Cr3C2-Al systems and magnetron deposition of coatings of the Ti-Al+C and Ti2AlC systems; a study of the functional properties of the developed coatings. The practical use of the developed coatings on uncooled parts and assemblies of gas turbine engines (blades, rotor, nozzle), high-temperature fittings, and parts of friction assemblies that operate under high loads and in corrosive environments will allow increasing the level of operating temperatures, reliability, and durability of their operation.
