Objective – Development and investigation of biocompatible materials with various mechanical properties for the fabrication of bone implants for different applications. Research methods – Optical microscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, hardness measurement, hydrostatic weighing, a specialized method for solubility analysis, standard methods for determining compressive and flexural strength, and metallography. Biocompatible titanium alloys of the Ti-Nb-(Zr)-Si system were obtained using electric arc and electron beam melting methods. The alloys were deformed in the β-phase region, followed by cooling in air or water. Air-cooled deformed alloys underwent heat treatment at various temperatures. The influence of deformation and heat treatment on the phase composition and microstructure of the obtained alloys was analyzed. Optimal thermomechanical (TMO) and heat treatment (HT) regimes for biocompatible Ti-Nb-(Zr)-Si alloys were determined. The most suitable methods for producing porous bioactive ceramics were selected. The influence of technological parameters on the structure, physicochemical, and mechanical properties of porous bioactive ceramics was investigated. These studies are crucial for the development of biocompatible materials for reconstructive surgery and for predicting their behavior in bone defects of various localizations.
