A significant increase in the level of MMP-1 was recorded in the tissue of poorly differentiated lobular adenocarcinoma of patients with stage II of breast cancer compared to highly differentiated neoplasms of stage I of the ductal structure. The lowest expression of MMP-8 was noted in the tissue of ductal adenocarcinoma with a low degree of differentiation. It was established that a characteristic feature of the luminal A and B molecular subtypes of breast cancer is the high expression of MMP-1 compared to the tissue of the Her2/neu-positive and triple-negative subtypes. While a significantly higher level of MMP-8 was recorded in the tissue of triple-negative BC compared to the tissue of luminal A, B and HER2/neu positive molecular subtypes. The study of miRNA indicators involved in the regulation of MMP-1 and MMP-8 expression allowed us to establish that the level of miRNA-155-5p in breast cancer tissue is directly correlated with the presence of metastatic lesions of regional lymph nodes, and high expression of miRNA-200b-3p is determined in lobular adenocarcinoma tissue. The lowest level of miRNA-155-5p and miRNA-200b-3p was recorded in the tissue of basal breast cancer in comparison with analogous indicators in neoplasms of luminal and Her2/neu-positive molecular subtypes. The identified relationship between the expression of stromal microenvironment remodeling genes and factors of their epigenetic regulation with such indicators of breast cancer malignancy as the stage of the tumor process, tumor grade, histological type and molecular subtype indicates the perspective of their use as prognostic markers of breast cancer.
