Head Voloshkevych Oleksandr М., Кандидат біологічних наук Registration Date 24-02-2025 Organization Danube Biosphere Reserve of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 The goal of scientific research is the comprehensive development of methods of renaturalization of similar ecosystems on the example of the Zhebryan strand and recommendations for optimal use of the ecosystem. popup.description2  The Zhebryan Range is located on the territory of the transborder Ukrainian-Romanian biosphere reserve "Danube Delta". This is a zone of anthropogenic landscapes and partially a buffer zone of the Danube Biosphere Reserve (hereinafter referred to as the DBZ). According to the floristic zoning, the territory of the DBZ belongs to the steppe Prydunaisk historical and geographical. The Danube Delta is divided into two parts: river and marine. The Zhebryan Range (hereinafter referred to as the ZH) is the border between them and is a coastal embankment made of sea sand. The ZH is the oldest natural formation in the Kiliysk Danube Delta, its age is more than a thousand years (Petresku, 1963). The range begins from the town of Vylkove, where its width is 3.5 km, and extends north to the village of Primorske in the form of a sandy strip with a width of 250 to 1200 m. The ŽP is a continuation of the Karaorman-Letea sand ridges (Fig. 2.1.1) from the Romanian part of the Danube Delta, which have an extremely rich vegetation cover from desert type (moving sand dunes) to typical forest vegetation with Querqus pedunculiflora C. Koch. (Ciocirlan, 1988). The length of the ridge is 11.5 km, the area is about 2000 ha. From the south it is limited by the Danube, from the west by the Stentsivskyi Plavni, from the north by the Black Sea, from the east by reed thickets. The basic territorial elements of the DBZ territory are the following land plots: the territory of the former Danube Plavni nature reserve (14851 ha); SZHP (7234.56 ha), Zhebryanivska ridge and the territories of the delta islands within the forest fund lands (11575 ha), the island of Ermakiv (2333.7 ha) and the upper reaches of Lake Sasyk and Dzhantsheyskyi estuary (3850 ha) Product Description popup.authors Voloshkevych Oleksandr М.
