The study of redox indicators of obesity as a significant pro-oxidant factor and the basis for the unfavourable course of breast cancer in the post-productive age expands current fundamental knowledge and is useful for adjusting treatment regimens and improving the effectiveness of therapy. High levels of neutrophil/lymphocyte and platelet/lymphocyte ratios are factors of unfavourable breast cancer course and high risk of mortality, taking into account the content of tumour-associated adipocytes (TAA), but independently of BMI. The use of commonly accepted markers of breast cancer in combination with the assessment of TAA content is appropriate for improving the prognosis of the disease, personalised therapy correction and increasing patient survival.
