A high level of accumulation of heavy metals and radionuclides in bottom sediments has been established, which is the threat of secondary water contamination. The ability of these toxicants to accumulate in the living components of the hydroecosystem, including foods (fish, crayfish, etc.), imagines the potential danger to the health of the population. Data on morphological and reproductive indicators of industrial ichthyofauna in reservoirs located in the area of active fighting are of scientific value. On the basis of these data, practical recommendations were developed on the rational use of fishery resources and preserving the stocks of valuable industrial fish species. Established levels of accumulation of heavy metals in the edible part of fish and evaluation of fish contamination of zoonon parasites represent scientific and practical value to determine the degree of safety of fish as a food product for the population. Complex studies of water quality of fishery reservoirs have shown exceeding the MPC by the content of heavy metals, the increase in the concentration of which is due to both long -term accumulation in soils and the entry of combat shells during systematic shelling. The existing ecological state of the aquatic environment makes it dangerous for eating fish products from such reservoirs. In this regard, we have proposed practical recommendations for the production of fish products in closed water systems that use water from environmentally friendly sources.
