The objectives of the work: to investigate linguistic and extralinguistic aspects of language learning. In the process of the study theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of foreign languages ​​in the context of dynamic processes within the modern English-speaking and Ukrainian-speaking environment were analytically investigated, methods and procedures for studying lexical, morphological, stylistic, cognitive and literary means of the process of learning foreign languages ​​were represented. In addition, scientific materials that determine the communicative-pragmatic metalanguage of foreign-language texts were analysed. Theoretical and basic methodological approaches related to the study of languages ​​were substantiated. The specific properties of foreign-language texts are also in the focus of the attention of the researchers. The role of intercultural communication in the life of modern society is analysed in the context of translation studies problems as well as the issue of borrowing English lexemes into the Ukrainian-speaking space.
