Research methods: geomapping, sedimentological, micropaleontological, lithological, petrogeochemical. Results based on sedimentological and micropaleontological data, the depths and tectonic and sedimentary processes in the northeastern part of the External Carpathian Basin were comprehensively reconstructed for the first time in accordance with modern methods. The Cretaceous-Eocene here was dominated by deep-water (about CCD) turbidite sedimentation in the continental slope zone at the foot of the Tethys margin, where cones of terrigenous material were formed. The foraminifera of this age are similar in taxonomic composition and morphological features to the same age microfauna of the Carpathian-Alpine and Atlantic regions and indicate the depths of the Bathyal-Abyssal. The presence of montmorillonite and chlorite in the studied background mudstones of the Upper Cretaceous-Lower Eocene of the Skiba and Boryslav-Pokutsk covers indicates a high probability of the contribution of the femic magmatic component to the background petrofund of the sedimentation basin. Probably, the convergence regime during the formation of the Carpathian accretionary prism initiated the riftogenic opening of the External Carpathian Basin, which allowed the penetration of endogenous magmatic material, mainly of medium-basic composition. It entered the sedimentation basin from various sources (wear, stratospher Product Description popup.authors Heneralov Anton V. Khomiak Leonid M. popup.nrat_date 2025-02-26 Close
