The hydrochemical indicators of water and bottom sediments have been determined (total mineralization, oxygen content, organic and biogenic substances, heavy metals, petroleum products). The hydrobiological characteristics of water bodies on Galerny Island have been performed (macrophytes, phytoplankton, zooplankton, zoobenthos, bacterioplankton, zooperiphyton). The current state of aquatic ecosystems has been assessed based on hydrological, hydrochemical and biological indicators (water exchange conditions, compliance with water and bottom sediment quality criteria, degree of eutrophication of water bodies and level of organic pollution).
