Performing rescue archaeological exploration of the cultural layer on the settlement in order to identify movable and remnants of stationary archeological objects with their subsequent documentation, and to supervise excavation within the protected areas of the objects, in case of the remains of archeological objects and ancient cultural layers archaeological measures concerning them research and fixation. In March-June 2020, salvage archaeological excavations were carried out at the multilayered settlement Chankiv-1. Specialists in osteology, numismatics, late antique ceramics, etc. were involved for laboratory processing of the materials. The research object is located on the territory of the Chankiv village council, Dunayevets urban territorial community, Dunayevets district, Khmelnytskyi region. Materials from several cultural and chronological stages were discovered at the site: the Middle Paleolithic (125–100 – 40 thousand years ago), the Neolithic (6th millennium BC), the Trypillian culture of stage B I (5th millennium BC); the Late Bronze Age (2nd millennium BC), the Early Iron Age (8th–6th centuries BC); the Late Zarubynets type (1st–2nd centuries AD), the Chernyakhiv culture (3rd–4th centuries AD) and Kyivan Rus (12th–13th centuries). Rescue archaeological research was carried out within 4 excavations along the road, the total area of which was 3970 m2. 70 archaeological sites were discovered. The oldest of them are represented by housing and economic structures of the Linear-Ribbed Pottery culture (4 sites). More than 30 stationary sites belong to the Early Iron Age. Materials from the Late Roman period come from household (pits, structures, cellars, quarries) and residential (above-ground and buried) structures. The most widespread finds of this period are fragments of molded kitchen and tableware. The Kyivan Rus period is represented by 2 stationary objects and individual finds from the cultural layer. Other periods (Middle Paleolithic, Early Neolithic, Trypillian culture of stage B I, Late Bronze Age) are represented by a series of finds from the cultural layer: flint products, a bronze celt, fragments of molded vessels, etc. Numerous artifacts come from the structures and the cultural layer, of which about 3,000 units have been transferred for storage to the state part of the Museum Fund of Ukraine.
