The purpose of the study: to improve the method of selection of breeding material of common bean Phaseolus vulgaris L. according to adaptability indicators and to create a high-yielding variety suitable for mechanized harvesting. The main methods of research: hybridization, selection, field and laboratory research, production testing, statistical analysis. The main results of the work. A gene pool of beans with valuable economic traits has been created. In the competitive variety test, selection numbers 711-23 (№757), 784-23 and 766-23, which significantly exceeded the standards in terms of productivity by 19, 14 and 11%, respectively, with the length of the vegetation period up to 105 days. In the preliminary variety test, promising selection numbers for further study were selected: 772-24, 794-24, 762-24, 763-24, 764-24, 765-24, which exceeded the standards for the level of productivity with the duration of the vegetation period at their level.
