IF Kuras NAS of Ukraine popup.description1 The purpose of the study is to determine the prospects for the development of civil society institutions in post-war Ukraine, taking into account the changes in the functions of NGOs during the war and the transformation of the demand from society to NGOs popup.description2  The study of the processes of CSO transformation in the context of war has shown that Ukrainian civil society is capable of consolidating and solving urgent problems in the context of crisis, partially taking over the functions of the state. This is what made it possible to quickly and efficiently supply the army, provide assistance to internally displaced persons and victims, and provide legal, psychological, and informational support. The necessity of: 1) involving civil society in anti-corruption activities; 2) promoting the development of volunteer formations of territorial communities as a civil society initiative to strengthen the country's defense capability; 3) deepening cooperation between CSIs and international organizations. It is established that effective participation of civil society in state-building processes depends on a number of factors: 1) civic education; 2) political and public participation of citizens; 3) availability of real mechanisms of influence on public policy and effective means of controlling state institutions or local self-government; 4) living standards; 5) adaptation to crisis phenomena. The institutionalization of civil society helps to establish relations with the state authorities. A high level of institutional capacity of civil society institutions and non-governmental organizations will contribute to the rapid and effective implementation of Ukraine's recovery.
