The archaeological survey of a land plot was carried out on the territory of Sokilnyky territorial community, Lviv district, Lviv region to clarify the boundaries of the archaeological site – the Sokilnyky-1 settlement, located within the projected quarter of individual residential development K-17. The purpose of the project was an entire surface survey of land plots, verification and clarification of the boundaries of existing archaeological monuments, supplementing the scientific base on the ancient settlement structure of the region, and studying ancient material culture. To verify the presence of an archaeological cultural layer in different parts of the 30.07 ha plot, 9 test pits were dug. The thickness of the archaeological cultural layer within the Sokilnyky-1 settlement ranges from 0.55 m to 1.0 m. A significant number of archaeological materials was collected both during surface excavations, and in buried pits. These are mainly fragments of molded and circular vessels. The exception is a dark red paste bead. This artifact, as well as most fragments of molded and circular vessels, date back to the Roman period and can be associated with the Pshevorska or Zubrytska cultures. Some fragments of circular vessels belong to the materials of the Raikovetska culture (8th–10th centuries). Based on the data obtained, a plan of the archaeological site was drawn up and the areas of its territory and protection zone were defined. Product Description popup.authors Ilchyshyn Zoia A.
