The term "pumping station" is comprehensive and includes, in addition to a well and a water storage tank, the actual pump with an electric motor, the pump control system, various emergency sensors, alarms, as well as sensors, the purpose of which is to ensure the functioning of this automated system. To date, there is a sufficient number of water supply systems built in the early 50s of the 20th century that are both morally and technically obsolete. The structure of these systems includes a pump, a water-pressure tower, as well as pipelines through which water is supplied from the water-pressure tower to end consumers. Often, the degree of automation of such a system is close to zero, that is, the pump is controlled in manual mode. In this case, indirect commands for turning on the pump are the absence of water in the water pipe, and for turning it off - the presence of water flowing from the emergency overflow pipe of the water tower. Operation of the system in this mode leads to increased consumption of electrical energy, a decrease in the resource of the pumping equipment due to the frequent operation of the pump with a large back pressure from a full water tower; fluctuations in water pressure in the system; pauses in water supply, and also strongly depends on the human factor. A technical solution that will make the operation of such a system stable, energy-saving and completely independent of the human factor is the complex automation of such pumping stations with the use of modern frequency converters and pressure and liquid level sensors in the structure of the electric drive. In order to develop recommendations for the rational selection of parameters of all named elements of the local water supply system, it is proposed to create its structural and mathematical model and to investigate the system in non-stationary modes of operation with its help. popup.description2 The object of the study is the process of water supply of a part of the settlement from an autonomous pumping station. The subject of the study is a turbomechanism and an unregulated electric drive of a pumping station of a local water supply system. The purpose of the work is to assess the regulatory properties of the existing pumping equipment, taking into account the real characteristics and needs of the water supply system; assess the impact of non-stationary operating modes of the pumping station on its productivity; develop recommendations for upgrading the existing pumping station to the required level of automation. The research method is system analysis, statistical analysis, theory of operation of the electric drive of turbomechanisms. Keywords: local water supply system, pumping equipment, turbomechanism, unsteady mode, regulation of turbomechanisms productivity, automation of the pumping station.
