Therefore, one of the most important fundamental foundations for creating tools for serological diagnostics is understanding the patterns of the immune response to a particular antigen. Given this circumstance, information about the antigenic structure of various proteins and substances of different chemical composition that may have diagnostic significance becomes of particular importance. Relevant fundamental and applied research usually precedes the development of tools for serological diagnostics. An important tool in the development of diagnostic drugs is the carriers of the immune response - immunoglobulins. Today, the use of polyclonal antibodies in the total volume of serological studies has noticeably decreased - monoclonal antibodies have come to the fore, which are characterized by undeniable advantages both from the standpoint of the technology of their production and from the point of view of their biological and immunochemical properties. Hybridoma technology has remained one of the most widely used biotechnologies for the fourth decade. With the advent of genetic engineering, a unique opportunity has emerged for the purposeful construction of molecular genetic systems and the production of recombinant proteins, including for diagnostic purposes. It is impossible to imagine modern serological diagnostics without the use of recombinant protein-antigens of various origins. It should be noted that biomolecules used in serological tests (antibodies, antigens, etc.) do not always “work” in free form – there is often a need to connect such biomolecules with each other or with substances of chemical origin, in particular to create the possibility of detecting the results of the analysis. To solve such problems, a wide arsenal of methods of bioorganic chemistry is used – conjugates of biomolecules of various qualitative and quantitative composition.
