The subject of the study is the state of protection of human rights and freedoms, interests of society and the state from criminal offenses and the dynamics of its development, the set of factors that influence the commission of criminal offenses (security situation), and directions for ensuring a favorable security situation by the bodies of the National Police of Ukraine. The purpose of the study is to assess the impact of socio-economic processes and phenomena occurring in the country on the state of the security situation, identify new processes and phenomena that threaten its stability (threats of the first type); determine the parameters of the state, structure and dynamics of criminal offenses in the country, trends and patterns of their development (threats of the second type); forecast trends in the development of the security situation for 2025; develop proposals for improving the system of measures to ensure the security situation in the country in the sphere of competence of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The research included: monitoring and analysis of the main trends in the development of the security situation in Ukraine in 2024; assessment of the security situation in Ukraine in 2024 and forecast of its development for 2025; analytical review of the predicted threats and risks of the security situation in Ukraine in 2025; criminological characteristics of fraud in Ukraine; analytical review of criminal threats against children in the digital environment and measures to prevent them; proposals were prepared to improve the system of measures to ensure the security situation in Ukraine.
