Subject of research – eigenmodes and field scattering of finite chains and metasurfaces with a cluster element. The purpose of the project is to develop theoretical basis (study methods and mathematical models) for expanding the functionality, improving the characteristics of known and creating new metaphotonics devices based on cluster and/or topological metasurfaces. Research methods – finite element method, group theoretical approach, multidipole decomposition, integral equation method and theory of artificial dielectrics. Results of the work: the properties of a toroidal dipole formed in a ring chain of disk resonators were studied; such a toroidal dipole was compared with the toroidal dipole of a prototype toroid; arising of complex coupled toroidal dipoles in a cluster of the ring chains is shown; the possibility of creating a plane-parallel waveguide with artificial mirrors in the form of disk metasurfaces is proven and the features of its eigenwaves are revealed; the possibility of excitation of trapped mode resonances in disk metasurfaces with an inhomogeneous environment is revealed; the existing of exceptional points and the removal of the degeneracy of eigenwaves in disk metasurfaces with inclined wave incidence are studied; the possibility of mechanical control of the resonant effect on the electromagnetic field of a two-layer metasurface formed by dielectric disks is shown; new antenna configurations are investigated that are capable of generating a wave with angular orbital momentum with different topological charge.
